House K

This is a private house in north Tel Aviv designed for a family with a large collection of books. The life of the family centers around the double height living room with the library located on the gallery.

The site slopes steeply allowing the construction of a lower level open the secluded garden but almost hidden from view from the approach to the house. The home has three levels: three small bedrooms on the lower level, the living-room, kitchen and dining room on the entrance level and the library with master bedroom on the upper level.  A narrow double height space creates a visual connection between the levels and suggests the separation of the served spaces (living room and library) from the service spaces (kitchen, bedrooms etc.)

The building is built in acrylic plastered concrete with steel casement windows.
